IDC 2007 Report on China Testing Market
According to the latest report of IDC on China Computer-based Testing 2006-2007 Forecast and Analysis (IDC 2007), In 2006, a total of 122.7 million candidates participated in the exams for licensure, certification, and academic areas, with a total year-on-year growth rate of 8.9%. Spending on all kinds of tests grew by 13.8%, a bit higher than the growth rate of test candidates, with the total amount reaching US$2,281.1 million in 2006. The testing market revenue will increase at a 10.7% compound annual growth rate (CAGR) through 2010, driven significantly by the strong demand on the vocation-related licensure and certification tests.

World Leader in Psychometric Assessment Delivers Tests Through ATA
SHL, the world leader in psychometric assessment in the workplace, has chosen ATA as the exam delivery partner for their clients in China. This is the first time SHL assessment tests were being delivered in China through computer-based format.
The first computer-based exam was successfully completed in Shanghai and Beijing in November 2007 for an international client. ATA provided turnkey services solution for scheduling, test publishing, test site management and test administration through its advanced ETX test delivery system. All preparation and setup work were completed in two weeks time. Campus Stars of ATA/Microsoft IT Curriculum Went to the US
On December 17 2007, four winners of the “Campus Star Contest” of Microsoft IT Curriculum in China made their dream trip to the United States to visit Microsoft Head Office in Seattle. These winners came from different vocational universities in China, they were impressed by the Microsoft Campus, the “Home of the Future” and the Information Center which exposed the youngsters to the state-of-the-art IT technologies and the potentially tremendous changes that technologies might bring to human life.
The Campus Star Contest was jointly sponsored by Microsoft and ATA, Microsoft’s Gold Partner in delivering the career-driven IT curriculum in 260 colleges and universities in China. A total of 3188 students from 67 colleges/universities participated in the performance-based skills contest. The America tour is not only a reward to the top winners but also the climax of the contest. |
